For this unique piece, I worked off the ideas of dhāranā and dhyāna for a kind of meditation or yoga jewelry idea.  When we focus and train our minds to meditate on one thing, it's called dhāranā, धारणा.  It also means holding and suppression.  Once we achieve pure meditation without difficulty, and awareness of everything in its pure form, it is called dhyāna, धायण.  My idea behind this necklace is that these two types of meditation can get lost in the beauty and complications of life. When we clear it away, clear our minds, we can focus on peace, and peace comes clear, vishada guna. So the back of the necklace is unadorned, clear, and simple, śānti (shanti) or śāntihi (shantihi), शान्तिः (peace).

The silver clay portion is 18.5 mm long and 30 mm across at its widest. 
The chain measures 18 5/8 inches long open across the charm.




~Fine silver jewelry is 99.9% pure silver (not 92.5% sterling silver), containing eco-friendly recycled silver, mostly from old electronics. I make my own molds or press a leaf directly into the silver clay, each one is unique. I form and cut, file, sand, and polish every piece by hand, then tumble it for strength and extra shine.
All other metal used is sterling silver, oxidized and lightly polished like an antiqued heirloom treasure.
