About
I am an artist and educator working at the intersections of community formation and art. I'm curious about how our stories connect us to our worlds and each other. I'm passionate about exploring these connections through collaborative projects, public performance and traditional art practices. I currently live in the hills of Malibu with my two teenage boys, partner and two dogs where I demonstrate a great love for taco and soup-making.
My current focus is on creating "upcycled clothing" that's stitched, silkscreened, patched and played with to become individual art pieces with stories of their life before they reached Laughing Dog Art Studio. I hope you will shop the store for something that lights you up, or reach out with an old piece of yours you'd like to renew!
I also paint commissioned pet portraits at Laughing Dog Art Studio. More than a simple commissioned pet portrait, I try to “listen” and “see” the relationship between a person and their pet by considering a collage of stories, memories, and photos that clients provide. From this information, I strive to create a visual representation of the bond you experience with your pet.
