West Side Bazaar is a non-profit 501(c)3 business incubator and international marketplace located on the West Side of Buffalo, NY.
Currently home to 15 unique businesses, West Side Bazaar is operated by the Westminster Economic Development Initiative, or WEDI.
At West Side Bazaar our goal is to strengthen our community by helping prospective entrepreneurs open their own businesses. Our clients come from a wide array of backgrounds with differing levels of experience. While operating in the Bazaar, businesses have a chance to work with WEDI staff, volunteer business mentors, and each other to learn about starting, operating, and growing their business in Western New York. Our goal is to see our businesses move out of West Side Bazaar and open a stand alone business in our neighborhood, empowering our entrepreneurs to become successful and community-minded business owners in the communities in which they reside, with a specific focus on the West Side of Buffalo.
Our current business owners come from 8 different countries, representing 13 different ethnicities and speaking over 20 languages. 93% of our businesses are refugee-owned, and 73% are owned by women.

Bringing the World to Buffalo
About We are a nonprofit 501(c)3 business incubator and international marketplace located on Buffalo's West Side.
West Side Bazaar is operated by the Westminster Economic Development Initiative, or WEDI. Founded in 2008, WEDI's mission is to empower disadvantaged communities living in the City of Buffalo.
The West Side of Buffalo is one of the most diverse communities in New York State, with over forty languages spoken by dozens of ethnic groups and nationalities.
Our entrepreneurs are able to test their business acumen and products at West Side Bazaar, while receiving rent subsidies, business development assistance and training, and access to markets. 14 of our 15 businesses are refugee owned, and 12 of our businesses are either owned [10] or co-owned [2] by women.
Our business owners come from 8 different countries: Ethiopia, South Sudan, Iraq, Burma/Myanmar, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Laos, and the United States. Combined, they speak over 20 different languages!
WEDI also supports a number of businesses around Buffalo, offering technical assistance, micro loans, and workshops to entrepreneurs throughout the city.
Mission Statement Our mission is to empower our business owners to become independent, successful entrepreneurs!
